About our Program Directors
2024-2025 Badlands Edge Director/Head Coach
Jaime Hassett has been involved with gymnastics for over 40 years. He began his gymnastics adventure at the age of 5. He started doing recreational gymnastics once a week and eventually was invited to join the boy's pre-team/team at the age of 6. He started out as a class 7 gymnast, which is equivalent to level 4, and he progressed in his levels until becoming a class 1 gymnast, although he never competed as an elite gymnast.
Jaime began his coaching career back in 1986 while still being a gymnast working with pre-team, recreation, and doing birthday parties. He eventually became a team assistant coach for boys and girls prep optional gymnastics, which is now called the Xcel program. His first head coaching position was in 1995 and was level 3 through level 6 girl's compulsory gymnastics. By 1997, he was coaching both boys and girl's gymnastics all the way to level 10/elite. Jaime has coached both boys and girls to collegiate gymnastics. |
