How many competitions are we required to go to?
Team members are required to compete at a minimum of 4 competitions per season: 1 being our home meet, 1 must be a ND State Qualifier and at least 2 other competitions of your choice. You will have a total of 7-10 out of town meets to choose from between December and March. We also have the opportunity to attend a destination meet.
what happens if my child is injured, and will they be able to continue practicing?
Expect injuries. Due to the nature of gymnastics, there will be injuries (usually minor). The most common injuries are hand rips, bumps and bruises from falls - wrist, ankle and knee injuries from impact landing. All injuries are evaluated and cared for. There is always an instructor who is CPR certified and has knowledge of first aid. The staff will make decisions based on the seriousness of the injury.
Please let your child's coach know if there is something going on with your child, such as injury, illness or medication etc. Please communicate anything that may affect your athlete's ability to practice or compete. This is very important as we may need to change our training plan for your gymnast, but they can continue coming to practice and work around their injury.
